2. I'm sure he's thankful he's in a position to seek medical assistance.
He needs to stop and think of the millions of American taxpaying citizens who CANNOT AFFORD ANY MEDICAL CARE TODAY.

And that's right here in America, in 2007. It's a disgrace.

7. ha! My sense
-perhaps too hopeful- is like everything else that has happened to Cheney while 'out and about'...this development is (as usual)being extremely downplayed...yeah, Darth is on alot of meds, but clearly he is really pushing his ultra toxic vehicle (his bod)to the max-he can't afford to do that at all.

My prayers ARE NOT with him. They are for the country he has ruined.

6. If he would go running around Anbar Province, he wouldn't have
such a problem.

DVT - deep vein thrombosis. Gets some heparin treatment. Oh goody.

Sometimes I wonder if he's on the way to a "medical" resignation.

8. The most common blood thinner is coumadin ...
which is the active ingredient in D-con rat poison.

10. The article shows where the blood clot is....
...."An ultrasound showed the blood clot -- called a "deep venous thrombosis" -- in his left lower leg, she said."

This sounds similar to the blood clot Richard Nixon developed when he came close to being impeached following Watergate and the U.S. Senate hearings on his role in the cover-up. By then Nixon was drinking excessively, distracted and had become very delusional and no longer competent to serve as president. Nixon then resigned.

Dick Cheney needs to follow that model.

15. Something's fishy about this.
When you have deep vein thrombosis, they don't just send you back to work with a prescription for coumadin. It takes several days for the coumadin to take effect. In the meantime, they put you on heparin, which is usually given intravenously.

Maybe the clot is very small? Maybe they just increased a pre-existing regimen of coumadin? Or they've got him resting at the White House while hooked up to IV heparin? We're not getting the whole story.

17. i was wondering the same thing
he must be taking lovenox (injectable low-molecular weight heparin) for the next few days until the coumadin kicks in. and he needs to be off his feet and keeping the leg elevated. i am really shocked that his doctors let him go back to work. this is really really serious. it does not matter how small the clot is, all it has to do is block a big enough vein or artery to cause major organ damage. I even know people who have TIAs (mini-strokes) due to micro-clots in the brain.

19. Very odd. I too thought he'd have heparin (and then a swtich). Maybe
he has a private nurse taking care of him, but still, back to the office? It's weird.
