Iraq's Mandaeans 'face extinction'

An ancient faith that predates Christianity is facing extinction in the American "liberated" Iraq, another example of how the US has destroyed Iraqi society. There is a story posted in LBN today about 2 million Iraqis that have already left Iraq.

They just couldn't handle American "freedom and democracy."

Iraq's Mandaeans 'face extinction'

The Sabian Mandaeans - one of the oldest religious groups in the world - are facing extinction, according to its leaders.

They claim that Islamic extremists in Iraq are trying to wipe them out through forced conversions, rape and murder.

The Mandaeans are pacifists, followers of Adam, Noah and John the Baptist.

They have lived in what is now Iraq since before Islam and Christianity.

More than 80% have been forced to flee the country and now live as refugees in Syria and Jordan.

Who admit the world has an evil problem and all is not good and the thing that made this world is evil.
Mandeans are a flavor of Gnostic's.The church desperately tried to wipe out all the Gnostic's why because they were against state domination obeying authoritarians and stood up against injustices.

Sometimes Gnostic's can break the spell of loyalty to a state or belief system and this scares the shit out of any would be ruler.Alot of Gnostic's could be politically anarchists.

And Bush can't handle anyone who would see him as the nothing he is and all other "great men" in a similar way. Can't win over the heart and mind of a Manichean dualist if he knows deep inside his spirit you and your agenda is evil.
That's why ever since the birth of Christianity which was Gnostic before the council of Nicea got it's paws on it,had to be systematically wiped out it's churches and persons killed and their writings burned. Manichean's ,Lyons,Valentinians, Cathars many other flavors of Gnostic's are a philosophical and ethical threat to the system of domination in this world.
