NADER: If Bush twins were in Iraq, what would Bush do?
Since Bush is a supposedly a Christian, he might remember God telling Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, or God himself giving up his son for the sins of the world.

But of course you don't go quite that far if your goal is stuffing a few trillion in oil money in your friends pockets.

If Prince Harry Can Do It, Why Not Barb and Jenna?

Send the Bush Twins to Iraq!

By RALPH NADER

Let's envision the twins back on leave as medics from their first deployment to Baghdad sitting with father in the family quarters upstairs in the White House.

Jenna: "Daddy, you must listen to us and not ignore what we want to say, as you have disregarded our e-mails. Most of our soldiers in Iraq have lost faith and want the U.S. out of there. If you don't believe me, look at this year old Zogby poll reporting 72 percent of the soldiers want the U.S. out in six months to a year. And things are much worse now."

Barbara: "Daddy, you're spending $12 million an hour in Iraq and the soldiers are still short of body armor, armored vehicles and communications equipment. Still! Four years after the war started. Much of their equipment needs repair or replacement and there is no money. One of your Congressional critics reacting to the Department of Defense's Inspector General report of January 2007 said: "If our troops aren't the priority, who is? Halliburton, Blackwater, other corporate chums of the President?"

The President: "Reports, polls, what nonsense; what are your soldier friends fighting courageously over there against those hit and run cowards telling you?"

Barbara: "Some were too ripped up in the hospitals to tell us, but we knew they were torn apart by IEDs in their unprotected vehicles. We can tell you other horrible eye-witness stories about undertrained and underequipped national guardsmen and reservists. It won't inspire you, but we can tell you, if you wish. We're on the receiving end of the battered men and women who come to us on stretchers."

1. He doesn't seem to give much of a shit where they are ...
... or what they do. Why would he care if they were serving in Iraq?

I truly don't think he has a caring, compassionate, parental cell in his being.

3. you're right.

14. Somehow, I think the feeling is mutual
This man never showed up for his kids' graduations, for their court dates, or for any milestone. He sent lawyers to bail them out of jail, and that's about it. They probably have warmer feelings for their Secret Service detail. Keep in mind that Daddy was drunk, by his own admission, until they were five, and, by all other accounts, probably much later.

9. here's a fun exercise: find the states where Nader cost Gore the election
I just looked and in only two, New Hampshire and Florida, were Naders votes enough to change the outcome.

New Hampshire only has four electoral votes, and if Florida had been fully counted, it would have gone to Gore by a comfortable margin. Also, even if Nader hadn't been in Florida, Jeb's hanky panky would have still made it look like George won or at least send it to the courts as happened.

11. Yeah
I mean, damn him for not wanting to run in either traditional party, for wanting higher office, or for garnering 1% of the vote. Damn him for participating in the electoral process!

When do you start going off and frothing at Gore for not winning enough votes for a clear majority?

5. We can beat our chests until they turn purple and black....
...we can rip our hair out of head, we can even rend our flesh from our bodies with our fingernails, but that won't change the fact that not one Bush will serve in Iraq ever.

Bush cowardice and stolen valor started with Prescott Bush and is a family legacy.

6. Send Nader to Iraq, he wanted the war.
He may have opposed this specific incarnation of the war, but he openly campaigned for Bush with the expressed excuse of hoping to destroy the system so he could rebuild it the way he and his 2% wanted it. He's getting what he wanted, he should be toasting Bush with the finest champagne. I mean, who didn't know Bush was going to get us into war when he surrounded himself with the people who had been calling for us to invade Iraq and Afghanistan since 1998?

Just like him. Take the sucker punch route. Like he's the first person to suggest they go. He's as bloody to me as Bush is. More so, because he's supposed to be smarter.

10. Could you cite some examples where Nader campaigned for Bush...
Got links?

I'm not a huge fan of Nader when he's run for President in 2000 and 2004, but just making up stuff about him isn't fair.

12. His 2000 campaign
was run to take votes from Gore, to help Bush. He took money from the Republicans to do it. He never, as far as I know, said "Vote for Bush," but he knew full well the result would be the same. We've had this discussion way too often around here, and links have been provided hundreds of time. I'm not where I can do all the research again, but Google and you'll find it.

Nader's a multi-millionaire, with millions in the corporate stocks he claims he opposes. He may not be literally using his position to enrich his stock holdings, but he long ago ceased having anything in common with working Americans, and his perspective is skewed beyond rationality.

And until near the end of 2000 I was a strong Nader defender, so I find no joy in saying this.
