Bush's problems? Just blame them on Bill Clinton

Fun, thoroughly sarcastic column by Bob Hill in Louisville.

Excerpt
--snip--
But then I had to use up a little more outrage when learning Attorney General Alberto Gonzales -- a Bill Clinton appointee -- had lied to Congress and the country about what he knew of the dismissal of eight U.S. attorneys and when he knew it.

Yes, we got the usual Clinton response -- the top Gonzales aide walked the plank. Then we kept hearing that the resident White House Machiavelli, Karl Rove, and former White House counsel Harriet Miers (both, incidentally, Clinton appointees) were involved.

Miers -- whom Clinton wanted to appoint to the U.S. Supreme Court until both parties hooted the notion off stage -- had even once suggested firing all 93 U.S. attorneys. --snip--

1. Bill Clinton is gonna be long gone from this world
Before the rightards stop blaming him for everything, and even then I'm not so sure

2. Is it something unique to Clinton that the freeptards hate so much
or would it have been the same with anyone who wasn't Ronald Reagan?

3. It is difficult to comprehend since Bill was a very moderate dem, unless
one acknowledges that he was also his own man and very intellectual. They could not control him or threaten him; all they could do was hound Bill. Ironically the more they took him on the more support he gained. Bill Clinton is basically a very likeable man; he can charm the leaves off the trees.

4. Excuse my ignorance, but
was Karl Rove really a Clinton appointee? I thought he'd been working for Bush for years and he (Bush) brought him along to the White House. Ditto Meiers.

5. No, no, the column is pointing out that everything that has happened
over the past 6 years—everything that of course originates with Bush—is somehow always blamed on Clinton. He's being absurd, using Gonzales and Meiers as examples, as they are Bush's obvious proteges.

7. Heh, guess the columnist made his point!

He often does, in a homespun sort of way.
