The Rise and Fall of Political Media
by Brent Budowsky | Mar 27 2007

At a time of great crisis in the country, huge numbers of the American people are rejecting insider political media and conventional political media and seeking alternatives including the Internet. Here is why, and I won't name names today because examples abound.

American political media have turned into insiders talking to insiders, oppo researchers debating oppo researchers, partisan talking points debating partisan talking points, all masquerading as news, opinion or original content.

The only original work is the individual who dug up the oppo research or wrote the talking points. The resulting news stories and op-eds are not original work, not legitimate news or opinion, except for the individual who wrote and distributed the partisan polemic. Everyone else just put their name on this person's work.

The most stunning example of this was the failure of the major media prior to the Iraq war. The front page of The New York Times, the editorial page of The Washington Post, the network news and the cable talkies abounded with the talking points of war, unrebutted by the voices of truth.

It is both humorous and tragic to witness these media players retroactively trying to pretend they warned their customers about the dangers of the war. In most cases, they did not. Prior to the Iraq war, most media players fulfilled the function of Pravda during the Brezhnev era, reading the talking points of the State, supporting the war and the talking points of the Democrats supporting the war.

The deluge continues. When you read the papers today and find stories about "new questions" surrounding a presidential candidate, this rarely involves serious questions but is a handout from the oppo researcher to reporters, who put their name on it, without disclosure. When you read a senator quoted from the past, cleverly pitted against his or her present self, this is not news or opinion, it is a handout of oppo research from a partisan and undisclosed source.

3. It's all about C4W, information warfare, PSY-OPS, and political control
Remember this thread from January 2006, babylonsister? Some of my views have changed since then, but the basic facts haven't.

The Internet is a battle ground, but the MSM is a closed strategic propaganda system. Freedom of the press has been privatized by "at will" slaves to Daddy War Bucks and the Decider.

Our minds are being hacked 24/7-just like the "closed" Office of Strategic Influence was dedicated to do, PSY-OPS "intended for foreign target audiences" have inexplicably "migrated" here as the Pentagon acknowledged quietly quite some time ago.

This archived thread supports Budowsky's article and is rich in some details about the political mind control networks of the MSM.
