Insiders say Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger sports a soft touch while wife Maria Shriver shows strict side.

There's a new sheriff in the California capital - and she doesn't have an Austrian accent.

Sacramento insiders say First Lady Maria Shriver is establishing herself as the power behind the throne in Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's mansion.

"She's pretty hard-core," says our source.

"She drives her staff like draft horses. Her style is much more in the Hillary Clinton mold than Laura Bush."

Gov. Ah-nold, by contrast, is impressing old hands with his soft touch and affability.
