I'm sick and tired of hearing that when Progressives and liberals manage to get out of the hatred of the right-wing and gain some power, that we should reach across the aisle, include the republicans in power sharing, bury the hatred, and begin to mend fences. "Afterall", the argument goes, "not including them in the power structure and not bending ower backwards to keep them involved, would mean that we are no better than they are". This is absolutely FALSE.
The miserable right-wing, took power steadily from 1992 until they out and out stole it in the election of 2000. After that, they mismembered every democratic instituation to protect their stolen power. This included eliminating voting booths and voting rights, having media personalities who presented rational thought fired from their jobs (Dan Rather, Phil Donahue), attacked anyone who spoke truthfully (The Wilson's), silenced free thought (Dixie Chicks), lying into war, and hiding the deaths and industries, of our military and civilians. All this while turning logic on its head and saying that sending the troops into war with insufficient was somehow supporting them, while trying to send them armor and getting them out of harms way was not supporting them. Their impebilic deviants like hannity and coulter meanwhile attacked the victims who spoke out so that others would not become victims.
Removing these slugs from power is not to become them, but to ensure that they can never attempt to destroy democracy and goodness ever again.
