1. Any opinions on any of the books?

Is the Soros book worth reading ?

2. The Soros book is excellent.

He basically states that he has tried to stay out of US politics, but in his book he has concluded the Election of 2004 is a life and death election for various people. He states that if the US 're-elects' Bush we would then be telling the world that we endorse the "Bush Doctrine" - after which things may go even more quickly downhill for the US. Highly recommended book that can be read over a weekend.

BTW, I just read the "Sorrows of Empire" over the past week - another excellent but somewhat depressing book. Chalmers states that we are already on the decline, and the people must regain control of Congress in order to prevent overt fascism...

and he seems to have speed-read them at that. The books are short changed, and they are serious attempts at history and analysis.
