I just sent it today in response to an editorial in today's WPost. I don't know if they will print it.
Dear Sir:
I find it disheartening that the Washington Post allowed itself to be a vehicle for the Republican talking points currently
used to smear Senator John Kerry. It is one thing to publish the opinions of conservative columnists, but it is quite another
to print the manipulative and selective use of out-of-context facts that support Republican propaganda. I am referring here to
the editorial (sic) Kerry's Inner Dove by Joshua Muravchik of the right-wing American Enterprise Institute. In it, the author
portrays Senator Kerry as a dove who is weak on national security. This is a total distortion of the Senator's record but is
also clearly a pillar of the Republican plan to discredit him in an area where he is beginning to threaten Mr. Bush. In fact,
Senator Kerry has supported numerous defense appropriations bills and the funding for countless weapons systems during
his career. As usual, truth is the first casualty of the Republican craving for power.
Here is the editorial referred to.
