1. Hell, just listen to the guy - all he has is claims with no proof

Just like visiting Iraq - what did they show him? That they could actually secure the market and protect his ass as he walked around. That makes him some sort of expert?
The guy is a light weight, p.o.w. experience not withstanding.

5. I don't mean to sound callous

but how does being a POW make you 1) a hero or 2) uniquely qualified leader of military?

He was a lousy student in the academy. He was a lousy pilot - he lost 5 planes. He got away with murder because of his dad. He had no discipline. As far as I can tell he didn't 'lead' troops. He was a lousy pilot who got captured and, depending on who you listen to, collaborated with the enemy to get special treatment/privileges.

How does ANY of that make anyone a hero?

6. You're absolutely right...being a p.o.w., in of itself, doesn't do anything

to build leadership skills. He did get him VA Disability claim.
The word "hero" is way to loosely used any more. It's a blanket application for any one who served in Iraq.
