Mona Charen: Bush bi-partisan martyr?
Hey DUer's... saw this on news.google.com this morning and damned near spit out my coffee. Anybody in the San Jose area willing to send some letters to the editor? We all know that the Repub strategy is to let Dubya feign innocence while all the attack-dogs go after his opponent. This is downright comical in places.

Bush Offers Bipartisanship, Democrats Respond with Venom.

"After years of friendly overtures and bipartisanship, President Bush should accept the fact that an extended hand to the Democrats is likely to be bitten off. The 'party of compassion' is shot through with virulent animosity. Pollsters conducting exit polls among Democrats on Super Tuesday found widespread hatred for the president. A Georgia illustrator told the New York Times, 'I'm not passionate about Kerry, but I think Bush is a positive evil.'"

2. I used to read her column
My boss would bring in his local newspaper every day (he commuted about 1.5 hrs--this was a small-town paper). This paper syndicated her column, and without fail, she'd spew hateful filth every time. It's not worth getting too worked up about--this person appears to be about the same caliber as an Anne Coulter or Bill O'Reilly: below contempt.

3. This is the Same Mona Charen
Who published a letter from an "Army friend" of hers, who said all the democrcatic contenders for President should be shot? Sounds like her typical verbal diarrhea.

6. Mona-Hello!!
Bush is a positive evil-destroying the new deal for one-how do you expect people to react when their social security won't exist and big fat richies get all the tax breaks. In the words of Monty Python "this is supposed to be a Happy Occasion"? How about a war with lives lost and billions spent that alienated most of our allies (yes old allies Rummy)? It does put one's knickers in a twist-good post thanks for the humor-Mona must be on one long strange trip
