Maui County would feel Bush's cuts

HONOLULU - U.S. Rep. Ed Case said he will fight White House budget cuts that could halt planned harbor improvements on Maui and Lanai as well as studies on agriculture water systems in Lahaina and Kula.

Bush administration officials "are unfairly targeting projects that have already been shown to be a high priority to the communities," Case said on Sunday, adding the projects had been approved and funding had been allocated.
"I think it's wrong," he said.
