Yes, beating Bush is better!
ReDefeat Bush to Hold Tuesday Night Democratic Club

WHAT: ReDefeatBush.com, a new federal PAC, will continue its campaign to register one million new Democrats nationwide with its fourth weekly event in Washington, D.C. Volunteers will gather to phone and write unregistered residents of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

WHEN: From 6 to 9 p.m. EST, Tuesday, March 23, 2004.

WHERE: Spy Lounge (next to Felix), 2406 18th Street, NW, Washington, D.C., near the intersection of Belmont Rd. in Adams Morgan.

This is a fourth weekly event at the same location. Volunteers have contacted over 1,000 households each of the previous weeks and are becoming increasingly efficient and effective. ReDefeatBush.com is preparing to expand in the coming weeks to locations in the DC suburbs, New York, and San Francisco.

The Committee to ReDefeat the President is an independent expenditure committee not affiliated with any candidate. Headquartered on the Internet at www.redefeatbush.com , its purpose is to effectively channel volunteer activities into political action that will defeat President Bush. It raises money through online contributions, events, and the sale of merchandise, including buttons, bumper stickers, T-shirts, lawn signs and condoms.

In cooperation with other organizations, it sponsors a nationwide Tuesday Night Democratic Club. At these gatherings, activists with cell phones make phone calls to households that are likely to register as Democrats but are not currently registered to vote, and those without cell phones write letters to the voters who cannot be successfully contacted by telephone. Concentrating on a handful of key battleground states, ReDefeatBush will organize 20,000 volunteers to register on average 50 new Democratic voters each, totaling a million new voters by election day 2004.

Come join us in D.C.! If you have a cell phone, please bring it! RSVP to events@redefeatbush.com or 202-329-7847 so we know how many people to expect, and please forward this message to your friends!

To get involved in New York, San Francisco, or anywhere else in the United States, go to http://redefeatbush.com and sign up to stay informed of future events or to help organize them.

ReDefeatBush.com operates on proceeds from the sale of ReDefeatBush merchandise, available online at http://www.redefeatbush.com/store

Media inquiries should be addressed to David Swanson via Email to swanson@redefeatbush.com or by calling 301-772-0210.
