Ghana gets it right
Ghana's new president is its former opposition leader, John Atta Mills. He was installed last week after a close election that necessitated a runoff in which Mr. Mills won 50.2 percent of the vote over the ruling party's candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo.

Ghana's election was not a flawless affair, and allegations flew that one side or the other was guilty of vote fraud.

But the absence of violence is notable on a continent where political-related mayhem is far too common....

1. I believe...
..that this would be what is considered 'The soft bigotry of low expectations'

Not attacking, just pointing it out.

2. Three cheers for Ghana!
I became a fan of the Ghanaian (sp?) people after seeing them on an episode of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations. Looks like a great place. Glad to see things are going well for them.
