It’s Time to ‘Git On With It’
It’s Time to ‘Git On With It’
By Richard L. Connor, CQ Guest Columnist

What a terrible waste of cyberspace to send a memo to a small cadre of friends who despite being right-wing, Republican nuts, are still friends.

And, no, those three words are not redundant.

So here it is: save those e-mail essages about Timothy F. Geithner’s income tax payment lapse. Or the questions about conflicts with the Clintons, between her job and his foundation gifts. Or the ones asking whether President Obama’s inaugural address was flat.

While I am at it, I have another request.

Impose a fine against me if I am ever caught reading another column by Maureen Dowd of the New York Times or lowering myself to react to her petty drivel — again.

Put her on the same bus with Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn and deport both of them to the country of Ms. Dowd’s new boss, Mexico’s Carlos Slim, who is shoring up the Times with a $250 million investment.

Let them cat-fight it out with their partisan sniping and longing to live in the past.

As they say in my former home state of Texas, “all of ya’ll need to get over yourselves and git on with it.”
