Socialist phobia turns into hysteria!
Friday, January 23, 2009

The evil spirit of McCarthy haunts the airwaves again!

The radio announcer yells in the microphone: I am going to speak the truth and I don’t care if the politically correct police drag me off the air and put me in a socialist concentration camp!!!! America has been taken over by Islamo-socialists! I hope all you true Americans stand by me in this fight against these American hating liberals! I dare Obama and his commie zombies to take away my gun, bible or private property! I will fight to the death to keep my freedom! Unquote. No, this not the ranting of old gunner Joe from the 1950’s, this is now! The last time we heard rhetoric like this was the 90’s from militia sympathizers on citizen ban radio. However, their rhetoric was more sophisticated than this latest rehash of the red scare of the 1950’s. Yep, that is the latest Republican talking point for our angry white guys on the radio: Obama is a Marxist! Such a shame! Will 22% of the USA fall for it? Might be! The more important question is: will these radio listeners buy the products the sponsors are selling. Not really, why? Because nobody will have any money once the depression kicks in. So enjoy rightard radio while it lasts because without advertisers, right wing radio is doomed. Of course they will blame Obama’s red army.
Will Obama be the greatest president ever? Well…. let’s look at history. FDR had his right wing critics too. They called him, “The creeping socialist”. Nut jobs like the Father Coughlin would go on the radio and get into a fanatical harangue with an audience too! Not only he would foam at the mouth about the red menace from the Roosevelt administration, he would lambaste the so-called international Jewish conspiracy. Plus, there were the Republicans in Congress and Senate who were obstructionist to the FDR programs.
So who won? Historically speaking, FDR did. Who remembers Father Coughlin? Nobody! Listening to righturds on the radio, you got feel sorry for them. They will end up in the unemployment line along with millions of Americans. While they are standing in line, they will start their anti-communist rant to some poor slob who just happens to be standing behind him who is too shy or too polite to tell him to shut up. Then somebody in front of him will punch him in the mouth and the rest of he people in line will join in. The man who assaults him will be some former Republican. Maybe Michael Savage should consider retirement.

1. Eeeeeeeek!
FDR: "Creeping socialist?" I've been called worse than that!
ER: I've been called even worse!
FDR: That you have, old girl!
ER: Your enemies do you credit, dear.
FDR: That they do!

6. Islam threatens the right
Universally right-wing Christians have the weakest faith of anyone you meet. Thus their constant need for other people to affirm Christianity for them. When they read stories about Muslims in Iraq being able to praise god even as their livelihoods are destroyed, or see video of thousands of people from around the world coming to the Kaaba in Mecca... it scares the shit out of them, because it gives them a clear picture of what they aren't - and when they see news stories of radical muslims conducting attacks, it likewise shows these morinic right wingers what they are - or would be if htey had any conviction.

So Islam, either way it goes, is the monkey on hte far right's back.
