Lying Continues at Ted Haggard’s Former New Life Church
HBO is coming out with a documentary about Ted Haggard’s life after the gay sex scandal, and lo and behold what should appear? Another male sex partner for Ted, this time a church volunteer. No word on whether the relationships happened in the same time period, but there’s an awful lot of lying and covering up at the New Life Church.

1. This is all about money
Teddy is an empty headed loon who made great money spewing his jesus bullshit every sunday, and he misses all that payola. He is desperate to get back on the gravy train. Church collections are the best of the money skimming cons going nowadays, and Teddy wants back in.

In what other profession can one get away with knowing nothing and making up stories about imaginary sky people and be paid so well? None other that I know of.

2. I was just in a conversation with someone who argued that you must have BLIND FAITH in your religion
I had to cut in at that point and argued that you must have the sense and ability to question authority, especially with your religion. We're both Catholics. I gave her a part of the laundry list where the Catholic church was on the wrong side of things and it would be extremely wrong to just go along because of your BLIND FAITH in your church.

It's people like this friend that get bilked by the Haggards, Robertsons and Hagees of the world.

4. I've been wondering for years...
what possible purpose people with blind faith serve in society.

Looking at the whole thing from an ecological point of view, there's a niche for every living thing on earth.

Remove or drastically change just one little part could cause untold damage to the entire system.

I've often (mentally) done the same thing with the crazies who live their lives on blind faith, trying to see what would happen to the rest of society if they were just taken out of the picture completely.

What negative impact would that have on society as a whole?

I can't see any negatives, to tell the truth. Or maybe I'm just not looking hard enough?

Whatever the answer, I still can't see where people who trust in blind faith serve any real purpose other than to take up space.

5. A Ponzi scheme requires blind faith...
on the part of the mark, doesn't it?
