"Saddam Warned of WTC Attack Before 9/11, Praised bin Laden Afterward"
Edited on Mon Mar-29-04 05:09 AM by DarkSim
This Will make you sick.

"On July 21, 2001, less than two months before 9/11, the state-controlled Iraqi newspaper Al-Nasiriya carried a column headlined "America, An Obsession Called Osama Bin Ladin." In the piece, Baath Party writer Naeem Abd Muhalhal predicted that bin Laden would attack the U.S. "with the seriousness of the Bedouin of the desert about the way he will try to bomb the Pentagon after he destroys the White House."

"Then in the late 1990s, according to UPI, "a cable to Saddam from the chief of Iraqi intelligence was transmitted by Baghdad Radio. The message read, 'We will chase to every corner at all times. No high tower of steel will protect them against the fire of truth.'"

Coincidence? Perhaps."

2. Gee NewsMax
Who would have thought Saddam hated the US and would be happy it somebody else attacked it. After al Qaeda bombed the Cole and Embassies oversea, did Saddam think maybe just maybe al Qaeda would bomb something in the US...

4. Hardly prognostication
I mean when you think about it, the WTC, White House, and Pentagon are the three most obvious targets for terrorism. The only people who didn't entertain that possibility apparently were in the Bush administration.

5. Give me a BREAK!!!
There were PLENTY of predictions far more acurate than these obscure references floating around the world before Sept 11.

Trying to twist these statements into "Saddam warned of 9/11" is an excercise in mental Pilates...

6. just falls in the ''who didn't know'' column
bush, cheney, condi, rummy and colin seem to be the only folks in the dark that a major event like 9-11 was on the way.
do you think that they sat on their own thumbs or each other's?

7. I don't know
praising an act isn't praising the man. The implication is Saddam was pleased with 9/11 and therefore aided or abetted osama. I just don't buy it.Saddam was, for the most part, a secular ruler. Osama...not interested in secular governments (hence his involvement with the taliban). Lastly, c'mon, it's friggin newsmax.

10. " concrete-Link " - thanks for the laugh - a good way to start the day
It is interesting how many countries warned us - and how many warnings this team of "adults" ignored as they chased oil control via the pipeline in Afghanistan, and the pipeline now being put together in Iraq to move oil through Iran's port.
