63% of Americans think GOP is playing politics

Will someone please explain to the GOP that they lost the November 4th election and lost big?

After 12 years of a Republican majority in Congress and eight years of a Republican in the White House, our country is involved in two wars that are sapping the strength of our military and adding to the worst economic disaster this country has seen in a lifetime. Though the current Republican Congress doesn't seem to have noticed these things, their constituents have. And they voted accordingly.

A majority of Americans voted for a Democratic president and a majority of Democrats into Congress. A majority of Americans approve of President Obama's efforts at bipartisanship and his Economic Recovery Act. It's unfortunate then, for the Republican party, that the leaders of the party haven't noticed or simply don't care.

A majority of Americans have noticed that the GOP has rebuffed bipartisanship from the new president and they don't approve.

First there was the 0 vote by House Republicans for the Economic Recovery Act. Indeed, the House Republicans bragged about the 0 vote like a group of recalcitrant schoolboys who have agreed to disrupt the class because they have a new teacher. The House Republicans are acting like nothing more than spoilt children. The swaggering by the House GOP hasn't gone unnoticed by the American public. 63% of Americans believe the GOP is playing politics. With 55% of Americans struggling just to make ends meet, this sort of political gesticulating by the GOP can only end badly.

1. Some think Obama is as well, but by and large the poll does reflect reality.

The GOP hasn't been any sleazier than they are now. They really are naive.

2. GOP is playing politics

What President Obama wants to put in place(reaching out, bi-partisanship, post-partisanship,...) threatens the position that most congressional GOP members believe and feel comfortable with: confrontation, grand-standing, power at all cost, back-handed tactics... you know, the types of Newt Gingrich and Karl Rove. When President Obama succeeds, those GOP congress members fear Americans will realize a secure life can happen without hate against gays, Hispanics, African-Americans,or against women performing abortion. That might be the end of Eric Cantor and he's not going down without a fight.

I think that the GOP thinks they can pull a Newt Gingrich vs. Clinton sort of thing that happened in the early Clinton years. They have their heads so far in the sand that they don't realize the world is a very different place than it was then. People like Kantor, Boehner and McConnel look like the idiots that they are. I believe this will kill Jindal's chances of running for president too.

And so is Obama (politicians play politics all the time- who knew?)- but, of course, the difference with Obama is that he is actually trying to DO something helpful and meaningful for everybody in this country (even the Republicans but they just don't care to know it)!
