Will someone please explain to the GOP that they lost the November 4th election and lost big?
After 12 years of a Republican majority in Congress and eight years of a Republican in the White House, our country is involved in two wars that are sapping the strength of our military and adding to the worst economic disaster this country has seen in a lifetime. Though the current Republican Congress doesn't seem to have noticed these things, their constituents have. And they voted accordingly.
A majority of Americans voted for a Democratic president and a majority of Democrats into Congress. A majority of Americans approve of President Obama's efforts at bipartisanship and his Economic Recovery Act. It's unfortunate then, for the Republican party, that the leaders of the party haven't noticed or simply don't care.
A majority of Americans have noticed that the GOP has rebuffed bipartisanship from the new president and they don't approve.
First there was the 0 vote by House Republicans for the Economic Recovery Act. Indeed, the House Republicans bragged about the 0 vote like a group of recalcitrant schoolboys who have agreed to disrupt the class because they have a new teacher. The House Republicans are acting like nothing more than spoilt children. The swaggering by the House GOP hasn't gone unnoticed by the American public. 63% of Americans believe the GOP is playing politics. With 55% of Americans struggling just to make ends meet, this sort of political gesticulating by the GOP can only end badly.
