It certainly makes sense, and I'd have been surprised at research that found it to be the other way around. Humans have sex drives, and so do conservatives. They tend to repress sex, but they still need an outlet, hopefully a maximally secret one, because they believe sex is shameful. Liberals don't have as many hangups. We just find someone cute whom we like and make love.
