A vote for a Conservative is a vote for Less Success.
A vote to reduce the Standard of Living for all Americans.

Recall 1920’s and Wall Street under Conservative control?
Recall 2000-2008 and Wall Street under Conservative control?

Want more of those years?

2. Clinton yrs. have equally impressive numbers on crime, abortion, etc.
The stats on the economy are only part of the story. I would like to see a similar comparison in crime rates, reduction of abortions performed, etc. The Reagan Repuke record is dismal on all counts.

4. These figures should be publicised nationally, by the Democratic Party,

ONE AT A TIME, in large, bold print, by way of a whole single-page advertisement, day after day, in a widely-read national newspaper, at regular quarterly intervals, for one year. And then repeated every other year. The message will eventually get through to the most laggard.

5. You're assuming two things.
First, they can read.

Second, they can comprehend what they read.

9. And third that they give a shit!
Hopefully there are enough common sense folks that will get the message--thats probably the 10-12% difference between the election results and current polls. But that 30-35% of the right wing kool-aid drinkers don't care. As long as their candidates beat the drums for God, Jesus, anti-gay, anti-choice, liberals-are-evil, anti-immigrants, and taxcuts, taxcuts, taxcuts, they don't give a flying fuck what the facts are.

13. Breaking it down and repeating it will undoubtedly help. People may want to
collect the set, to remind themselves, come election day.

12. This is a great link.
I've never heard of them and Joe Lyles is excellent. I'm from Jacksonville, Florida and have spent most of my adult life avoiding that place, as the ignorance there is highly radioactive. That makes Lyles all the more wonderful and I hope he is successful.

11. The Clinton years were spectacular years for America. He was hounded
by the GOPers, which is one reason I hate them, but he kept his smile and accomplished all they would allow him.

15. I thought you were going to debunk the whole "smaller government" and
"lower taxes" thing.

Reagan raised taxes 6 times (including the largest tax increase in history) and the size of the government grew under Reagan.

Why he's considered a "conservative hero" is beyond logic.

And yeah, he sucked anyway.

17. Unwritten/Unspoken GOP rules-Death of the Middle Class.
And the unmitigated and unfettered upward redistribution of wealth to the wealthiest 15%.

Rethugs don't want us making $5, $10, $20 dollars an hour.

They want to pay a near slave wage to all workers.

Atomic Ron declared war on the middle class and poor.

And wrote the book on fiscal recklessness, mismanagement, and irresponsibility.

Thanks for posting this info. People need to know this stuff.

Awesome post.

18. Clinton far from perfect, wrote the book on balancing a budget.
It took Clinton 4-5 years to balance the mess he inherited from the children Atomic Ron and Papi Bush.

20. the hardship
Edited on Mon May-18-09 02:02 PM by Stinger2
He cut SS benefits to the disabled in half, my brother with two children disabled found himself with $600 dollars a month to live on instead of $1200, You have no idea of the hardship that was for his family.

They said because he received Workman’s Compensation payments they would deduct them from the S S until he paid them back, that gave him $600 a month to live on, a family of three until he paid back $56,000 workman’s comp settlement. That law did not excised before Reagan, workman’s comp and S S are two different insurance policies.

21. As well as emptying out all mental institutions, in republicans book no such thing as "mentally ill"...
Edited on Mon May-18-09 02:05 PM by LaPera
Because republicans don't want to spend the money, taxes on our helping people in need, as we saw under Bush the corporations want ALL our tax dollars via wars, subsidies and bailouts...Certainly they don't want our tax dollars going back to the people, the workers, we are peasants in their eyes and we work & sweat our tax dollars for them, the corporations, the wealthy, the kings!

Just like republicans pretend not to believe, because they don't want to pay (use our tax dollars) to help soldiers coming back from Iraq & Afghanistan (fighting for their republican corporations), soldiers that truly do have mental problems & stress...but soldiers are only used by republicans for photo ops & political campaigns....when they must spend tax money on vets, no way they don't want to pay taxes for that....they much prefer our taxes going to their corporations in subsidies (corporate welfare)

Reagan truly was the essence of republican greed...fuck your neighbor and everyone else and get all you can and far more than you need for yourself....fuck our society and look what we have from that people worshiping lying greedy fascist elitist slobs like the pigman Limbaugh....

Reagan still is Limbaugh hero, Reagan made the pigman's greed as the right way to be, fuck helping the less fortunate.

22. I've tried bringing that up
The response is universally "well, Reagan laid the groundwork for Clinton's success".

At which point, I give up. Arguing with the blind men about the elephant is a pointless excercise.
