The Los Angeles Times not only strongly endorsed Environmental Attorney Carmen Trutanich for Los Angeles City Attorney this Sunday, but stated Jack Weiss was literally 'unfit' for the job.
The Daily News, LA's other large newspaper endorsed as well saying 'The race for city attorney has become particularly contentious, with ads attacking both candidates. Neither man is without flaw. But having seen Weiss in public office for eight years, his shortcomings, including his obvious lack of interest in his constituents and the work of the office, are all-too obvious.'
Quite a good race going on in Los Angeles given that Sheriff Lee Baca, the Police union, Maxine Waters and Deputy District Attorney Berger have lined up behind Trutanich while LA's mayor has stood by developer-friendly Weiss despite his missing 'hundreds of meetings' according to a councilman's records and receiving only 36% of the vote in the primary.
