1. There are no certainties

about what is the better course of action, but I believe that the president really considered all of the options and given the reality that the US has been in Afghanistan for 8 years and has never had an exit strategy, he had a choice to ignore or address the matter of Afghanistan.

I'm glad he focused on an exit strategy, defined the scope of the mission and is willing to give enough resources to make it a success.

I guess ultimately you need to decide if the President is putting his best effort into achieving his stated mission in Afghanistan, or if he has a hidden cynical motivation. I believe he has given it his best effort and this is what he has concluded.

I don't LIKE it that the US is in Afghanistan. But I do like it that the president is working to get us OUT!
