King Obama v. Queen Clinton — Check or Checkmate?
King Obama v. Queen Clinton — Check or Checkmate?
Colleen O'Connor, SDNN
...Quietly, and under almost everyone’s radar, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been vanquishing her foes, while President Barack Obama has been multiplying his.

Furthermore, she has been paying off her debts, while Obama has been multiplying his (and the country’s) I.O.U.s.

Obama is down in the polls. Clinton is up. He is losing his liberal base and taking heat on health care, the wars, broken promises, gate crashers, the bailouts, and a grand design that leaves his base behind.

As New York Times columnist, Maureen Dowd, wrote Sunday, “The Obama White House is morphing into the Bush White House with frightening speed. Its transparency is already fogged up.”

Watch Tuesday night in Massachusetts

On Tuesday night, Clinton may win promotion of another pawn to a valuable seat in the U.S. Senate-and enhance her position on the political chess board.

A non-Kennedy, non-Obama candidate, may win the special election to replace the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, and become the first woman ever elected to the U.S. Senate from that ultra liberal state... Read more

3. Well, I read it. And found it to be nonsense.
Obama is FAR from being "deposed" as our "king". And, he and Hillary make the most formidable international policy team we have had in decades. The so-called divide between Clinton and Obama loyalists is limited to a mercifully-few firebrands in either camp. The article was an exercise in cherry-picking from someone who is unable to let go of the primary fights.

If Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama can get over it, why can't Colleen O'Connor?

I suppose I was like much of the Democratic electorate -- I supported Clinton, but still loved Obama, also. I did not gloat gleefully when BHO made missteps or was beset by misfortune. I was likewise not impressed with the hotheads on either side. When Obama emerged as the victor, arms held high in victory by his opponent, my "conversion" was instantaneous and total. And their post-primary relationship has gone pretty much the way I thought it would: The (Hillary) Clinton Doctrine IS the Obama Doctrine. And by 2016, Hillary will be well "seasoned" for presidential victory. :^)

The politics of any given era have never proceeded smoothly. So I'm not particularly happy with the troop surge. I wish Obama would be a little more pushy with the GOP. My Magic Pony order was canceled. I'm not happy about Bill Richardson becoming collateral damage to a bunch of petty sleaze, though I am sure he will recover. But profound and beneficial changes at home and abroad are being made that are going unreported by the stink-hungry Blogosphere. For one example, at this time last year, I was CERTAIN that we'd still be in the down-phase of Great Depression II by now.

On the other hand, I was also convinced that by now, the Left would have turned on Obama, and would be busy calling him a War Monger, a Corporate Whore, Bush Lite, a DLC member, etc. I absolutely HATE being right about bad news.

5. It Doesn't
The only way I'd vote for Hillary is if the only other choice was Sarah Palin. And I'd think it over very carefully--Palin in office could bring the whole merry-go-round to a grinding halt and let some real democracy and revolution shine in.

there comes a point where you just let the idiots have their way, and then take over when they are totally defeated by their own incompetence.

Which is what we voted for Obama for, not for Bush III!
