This is such an incredible "Tour de Force" by Hedges ...I haven't been so overwhelmed since I read Howard Zinn. I don't know how to get DU'ers to watch this...except to say he goes into Sports/Celebrity/Marketing/Branding/Reagan/Nafta/Bush/Branding/Welfare Reform/Demise of Unions/Clinton/Obama and American Empire...and he puts it all into perspective of what we've been through...and he ties it up at the end back to "Celebrity Culture" and how Both Parties USE US FOR THEIR OWN ENDS because of the CORPORATE/MEDIA/BANKING and MILITARY COMPLEX! This is a very long watch...I found myself with tears streaming down my face that SOMEONE FINALLY PULLED IT ALL TOGETHER. He builds on ZINN but he quotes so much else from Ancient History on DOWN to TODAY. I've never seen anything like this. I hope that DU'ers will watch this because it's WHERE WE ARE TODAY. And, that he took this time to do this INCREDIBLE EXPOSITION of the reasons I've been a DEM and joined DU back during the SELECTION and got ACTIVE IN DEM POLITICS are in PERIL. It's a must watch for "conflicted DEMS" and ALL DEMS. If you can spend the time...and do it in segments for watch if you need to.

It's unbelievable... what Hedges lays out that is the ANGST OF US DEMS who've BEEN WORKING FOR CHANGE FOR GOOD FOR DECADES...and YOU NEWBIES!

We've GOT MUCH WORK AHEAD...even though the TEARS STREAM FROM OUR EYES!

7. Ok, so how do we fight back?

I proposed in another thread to vote in the candidate with the least of campaign funds and make sure they are from the working class. On the national stage, pick the one the dems and reps demonize. I dread it but the time might come for the torches and pitchforks approach. Any other ideas?

By getting involved and bringing your friends with you.
Run primary challenges to the incumbents.
Get young people involved.

Is ANYONE WATCHING? :shrug: I would hope so...and that you just don't know what to say...but my fear is that NO ONE CARES ANYMORE! :-(
