A year later, hope dissolves into disappointment.

A year ago, on an Inauguration Day like no other, Barack Obama placed his hand upon the Lincoln Bible and then assured a weary nation that, with hope and virtue, we could "brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come."

Across the country, in Seattle, Glen Boyd had only just entered his own economic storm. A couple of weeks out of work as a DIRECTV salesman, the Obama supporter nevertheless watched the inauguration on TV with a kind of goose-pimply, things-are-bound-to-get-better anticipation. He really felt it, that thing which the poet Alexander Pope said springs eternal.

"I felt a tremendous sense of pride. I felt like he was the right guy. I felt a sense of optimism," recalls Boyd. Now, a year later, Boyd writes this in his blog: "We believed what the man said in all those 'yes, we can' speeches. My one question is, where are all those reassuring speeches now?"

"To say I'm disappointed by the Obama presidency thus far would be an understatement."
Forget "can," ''change" and, above all, "hope." The new word echoing in the blogosphere and beyond as Obama enters Year Two: disappointment.

4. Build up such enthusiasm and hope with high minded rhetoric

and you'd better at least create the perception that your administration is FIGHTING to back it up and deliver, rather than pandering to and making deals with the corporate right, turning over key reforms to corrupt committees and appeasing the worst elements of the party- including turncoats who actively campaigned against you- like Joe Lieberman.

The latter being the final straw for a lot of folks.

Not the best way to to into the holiday season... to say the least.

5. Seems Like We Got More Of The Same Ole...

....stuff from the previous administration just that he words things different...Obama has caved on several issues like healthcare and he caved the other day when the Heritage Foundation cried foul because he didnt consider President Katrina Screw Up for a position on the Haiti relief team with President Clinton..

Yes Obama is getting more dissapointing each day....his free ride from his charisma has long past been over...he will now have to prove his true worth and value on his merits now and truly proving he is for the little guy platform that he ran on...not on his smile and well put words...

6. We Were Flim-Flammed

The only support Obama had going for him was his grassroots, Howard Dean's 50 state organization and the Wall Street moneybags.

Obama had no personal coalition in Congress, no platform unity and no party discipline to work with. He hung around with Rahm Emmanuel, the Democrat's turd of the House. Enough said.

Having burned up his grassroots, obama installed a nebbish who destroyed the party structure which Howard Dean, the best Party Chairman we've had in decades if not a century, built up for him, and turned to the poisonous Rahm Emmanuel for navigation. Obama has managed to run his Ship of State aground before he even got to the State of the Union.

We really thought he meant what he said, that he would use the brains God gave him, and that he meant our country well.

Now, too many people see too much evidence to the contrary.

Obama has a tough job to do and he has a lot to accomplish, and he sure could use the help of a united party and democratic support. I don't always agree with him, but he knows more than I do about what is going on, so I trust that he is leading us where we need to go. What do you want another Republican like Bush in office.

one. The problem is the percentage of times that Obama has made the wrong decision.
