The Woman Democrats Need
Edited on Sun Jan-24-10 01:10 PM by EmeraldCityGrl

ON THE day after Tuesday’s electoral loss, the Obama administration brought an unfamiliar face to the White House - Elizabeth Warren, the Harvard Law professor noted for her staunch advocacy on behalf the middle class and fierce criticism of the bank bailouts. Perhaps the administration will take a more aggressive approach to Wall Street, along the lines of what Warren wants. But for Democrats to truly take ownership of the economic crisis, Warren will need to play a more prominent role. Not just her ideas, but the force of her personality is needed.

1. She's a national treasure.

It's good to see the WH treasuring her a little more.

2. She's top notch and could be our Frances Perkins

Elizabeth Warren is a clear thinking, Harvard law professor (words not normally used with Harvard) who is one of the very few Democrats who is aggressively attempting to protect We The People.

But sadly, the Obama gang of Wall Street banknuts (aka Emanuel-Geithner-Summers) have kept their control over Obama's agenda.

Too bad for all of us that Elizabeth Warren isn't Sec. of the Treasury.

She could become our era's Frances Perkins.

5. Would that it were so! Then we'd have a chance at stopping this long painful slide
into third world status.

7. I wish they would replace Geitner with her - especially as he has "reservations"
about the plan Obama wants to initiate - which makes sense as he pushed the shotgun marriages of banks and investment companies that Obama wants to go through divorces. While reading "Too big to fail" Geitner's lead role i this was one of the biggest surprises I had.
