We interviewed Michael Moore on today and he was not shy about sharing his opinions. Anyone surprised? He had very strong words for the Democratic Party, the state of our political system and Glenn Beck.

What he thinks of Democrats and Republicans:

You know, I tell you, these Democrats are disgusting. Wimps and wusses and weasels. You know, get some spine. This is why I have to admire the Republicans. They at least stand for something. They at least have the courage of their convictions. They get elected to office, they come into town, and they go "Get outta my way, there's a new sheriff in town. This is the way we're doing things. Get outta here." And then they do it. You know. I mean what they do is crazy. But dammit, they are good at it. We should take a page out of their book.

Can we fix the broken political and economic system in America?

It's not going to get fixed. There's going to be another crash. The commercial real estate bubble hasn't burst yet. That's going to burst. The credit card debt is so huge right now, it will never be repaid. That's a house of cards waiting to fall. So the crash of '08 is going to look like coming attractions. And we're in for a much, much worse time.

What he would have said to Glenn Beck if he was in Van Jones place:

Fuck off! That's what I would have said. But again, you mentioned Glenn Beck, and of course, he's the guy that's called for my removal from the planet Earth, so...

But I believe there is hope at the end of that tunnel. And as corny as it sounds, that hope is with the American people. He is so right about what happened to Van Jones. How cowardly it was of the Democrats to allow an idiot like Glen Beck to drive him out of his position. It would never have happened if it had been a Republican. He would still be there, as Karl Rove was and Sanchez and all the other war criminals despite the real crimes they were responsible for.

Something is very strange about how easily the party in power caves to the ridiculous, radical rightwing's every whimper.

pathetic. Those Faux Noise viewers are just as ignorant I as suspected.

I think Michael has some very valid concerns about financial reform. The DR show just had a piece about reform. This country remains in a crisis state yet no reform is being enacted. Indeed, even the reform being proposed is a joke, and like HCR, we can't even enact a joke as reform. But everyone is like la la la, no problem.

The other say the Fox fan was trying to tell my GF that Glenn Beck makes a lot of good points and that people take his words out of context. I feel very luck to not have coworkers like that!

Glenn Beck made any good points. He has NEVER made a good point. I think Glenn Beck is certifiably insane.

Is he insane or is he talented at being a (dangerous) clown who gets good ratings? Then again the end result is the same, so maybe it doesn't matter.

3. Nothing to contradict in what he says regarding the difference

between how Republicans act when in power and Democrats. It IS disgusting to keep being told 'we can't do this and we can't do that' because 'we don't have enough votes' or whatever excuse there was after they gained a majority in 2006. 'We need a bigger majority' they told us, so we got it for them. Now, it's 'we need better Democrats'. Even in the minority the Republicans manage to get their way.

It's the country that is at stake and a lot of people are beginning to lose faith in this two-party system. I guess we needed to see what would happen when the Democrats had it all.

What happened to 'yes we can'? Seems all we hear now is 'no, we can't'.

Michael Moore and Dennis Kucinich and Ralph Nader and a few others are the only ones with the guts to state the facts and there are far too many Democrats who know they are right, but rather than push the party to do what is right, they leap to their defense no matter what they are doing. Just like the Bushbots when his supporters knew in their hearts he was bad for the country.

I guess MM will now be joining so many others under the bus rather than being applauded for trying to get the attention of the party that is supposedly in power.

This past year has revealed that the truth of the matter is nowhere near that benign, and it doesn't leave me feeling very hopeful for my country. While I used to think they were just spineless, now the only word that comes to mind is 'complicit'.

that while I hate him, I respect his determination and moxie. Democrats are nicer, but largely a bunch of cowards and weaklings, and I can't respect that.

19. Determination and moxie are EASY when you have corruption and big money behind you.

I loathe Dick Cheney but not as much as the weak-kneed democrats who are, in essence, fiscally stabbing their fellow Americans in the back through maintaining the status quo. I HATE THEM MORE because they are supposed to be part of "our team."
