Namibian elite accused of land-grabbing

Top Namibian government officials and heads of parastatals have acquired farms using affirmative action loans meant for poor communal farmers.

The opposition Congress of Democrats (CoD), this week made public a list of top Namibian officials who had helped themselves to the AA loans for land.

CoD leader Ben Ulenga criticised government's land reform programmes as "self-enrichment for ministers, Swapo and government officials, their families and other cronies".

I can guarantee, 98% that's what's going on here because I've seen this in Asia and can extrapolate the behaviour to what I'd call 'worse' regimes. Just look at the corruption of the Bush Family and the GOP in America and it really doesn't get media attention or prosecution!
