A message for Pastor Terry Jones ... Sheik Taj Al Hilaly.
Sydney-based Muslim cleric Sheik Taj Al Hilaly has a message for the pastor at a tiny Florida church who has threatened to burn copies of the Koran on the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

"If he burns the Koran, we will not burn the Bible because our religion teaches us respect," the sheik told tens of thousands of people who gathered at a Lakemba mosque to mark the end of Ramadan.

Terry Jones, head of the Dove World Outreach Centre in Florida, has called off plans to burn hundreds of copies of the central religious text of Islam, but only to rethink his decision.

"Right now we are just putting a temporary hold upon our planned event," he said on Friday.
