Watch the Banks
While I’m usually not one for conspiracy theories, it will be interesting to watch the banks over the next 6 to 18 months. My bet is now that their friends the rethugs are back in power, they will start to lend some of that money that they’ve been holding onto like Scrooge for the last 2 yrs. This, of course, will provide a much needed cash flow to small business which in turn will boost the economy and create jobs. Then the rethugs will claim that its their policies, not the administration’s, which is bringing us out if the recession and reducing unemployment. If that happens, of course nobody will believe it was planned.

4. You have to be able to
pass legislation to claim it was your doing. From the looks of it the repugs won't be passing much but gas!

10. Their weapon of choice
will be the government shutdown. If they don't vote for a raise in the debt ceiling, the whole thing grinds to a halt.

Look for the tea partiers to tell the old folks to set aside some money to get through the time that they're going to have to teach the rest of Congress a 'lesson'. If they can make the shutdown the President's (and/or the non tea party congresscritters') fault, then they win the game of chicken. If they can't, then we're rid of most of them in two years.

5. No doubt, they have been holding out. I would also watch for them to stick it to consumers with new
bank charges.

6. I expect this to happen...they hung on to money so that...
the economy would remain sluggish before this election. If they start loaning money to small biz, then job creation will pick up.

7. I'm not so sure. I think the banks are actually in much worse shape than they appear to be......
...... They're hoarding cash because of all the toxic assets that haven't come to light yet.

8. I think you're absolutely correct. They don't even have to let
go of much of the cash they've squirreled away (or repurchased stock with) - just a bit in this cash-starved economy should start a boost that will be measurable. And, of course, Fux will trumpet to the world it was because of the Repig's new 'cut taxes' policy, or some similar bullshit. And the Goobers will all nod their heads in agreement and vote Repig the next time around.

9. I
have been thinking the exact same thing. Then 2012 will come along and the repubs will tout this achievenment in hopes of getting more control, then they will deregulate, again.

11. I agree completely.
Employers will start hiring again too. Of course, at lesser salaries, complete with background checks, drug tests, personality tests, credit checks, and any other "tools" they can use to lower that salary.
