Mid-term election results not a mandate for GOP, poll shows
I hate to burst the bubble of the GOP Inc and GOP-tv talking heads (not really) but exit polls do not show a mandate for the GOP but mainly a dissatisfaction with lack of progress on the economy. HOweer, the results of the election show the GOP disinformation campaign participated in so enthusiastically by GOP-Network TV has voters blaming Obama for the Deregulation Depression.

Mid-term election results not a mandate for GOP, poll shows

The exit poll (PDF) from Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research suggests that while voters gave control of the House to the Republicans, it was not out of a desire to return to Republican policies, but rather out of a lack of other options.

The poll shows voters largely rejected the narrative put forward by Republicans: That the American public rebelled against the liberal-minded over-reaching of the Obama administration.

Roughly even numbers of Democratic, Republican and independent voters -- about three-quarters in each case -- said the economy was a factor in their vote. No other issue polled nearly as high.

Dissatisfaction with the available political options was also high, with 26 percent of voters saying their vote was a "message to both parties" that they are unsatisfied with the state of US politics. By contrast, 20 percent said the vote was a message specifically targeted at President Obama.

4. Correct. they like to create their own reality. IT's based upon the principle of the Big Lie.
I don't think you can pretend about 42% of the country who didn't buy their Big Lies can be ignored.

2. Not exactly a surprise
I read this sort of thing several times. MSM was furiously pumping away about how low approval of the Dems was in this or that poll, but hardly ever mentioned that the public's impression of congressional repubs was even lower.

So, what were the options for voters? A third party? Sorry, the Tea Party does not count IMHO. Green Party is nowhere to be seen. And a moderate conservative party is as dead as the dinosaurs.

Truth be told, the public isn't just mad at Dems or the President. They are not exactly seeing Repubs as their saviors either. My understanding was that the national turnout for the midterms was 42%. 42 f_____g percent! Fifty eight percent of the electorate didn't even bother. They are mad at Washington in general.

I do remember seeing another poll that indicated that this new batch of repubs would more than likely wind up being a disappointment in under two years. I give them 6-7 months before the voters become ticked off at them as well.

3. What?
"That the American public rebelled against the liberal-minded over-reaching of the Obama administration."

How about 'conservative appeasement'

5. good point. But that doesn't fit into GOP propaganda stream. So, no point in including it as an
option.
