Dick Cavett or Glen Beck, Your Thoughts?
Dick Cavett or Glen Beck, Your Thoughts?

Glen Becks audience will not drop a bit if Dick Cavett came to MSNBC but the country will understand what brains mean, compared to a self promoting propagandist or like Palin are afraid of questions from people with intelligence that Twit in the answers like a 2nd grader writing a book on politics.

2. Very much so.
CBS's Sunday Morning did a profile of him just last weekend.

I'd like to see Cavett return to TV but I'm sure his age is a factor. At the very least, I'd like to see some of his old shows, especially those with John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and with Norman Mailer and Gore Vidal. One clip CBS showed was Cavett giving Mailer a smackdown after Mailer basically said Cavett was an idiot.

5. When I was a kid I adored Dick Cavett. Lately, not so much.
He has said some egregious things about overweight people, a fact that shocks me since I can't imagine why he'd have such a strong prejudice against them (us). I'm not sure I could watch without feeling as if, in spite of the fact that I'm intelligent, well educated, creative, pretty succesful, reasonably kind and clearly on his side where many public issues are concerned, he would discount all of that in favor of some of his favorite descriptors, "heifers", "the Hindenburg", "fatties", etc.
