Palin PWND! Red States are FREELOADERS who depend on HANDOUTS
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/11/15/920697/-Palin-PWND!-Red-States-are-FREELOADERS-who-depend-on-HANDOUTS-
by MinistryOfTruth

From Sunday's New York Daily News comes a brilliant expose on the truth, that Red States are freeloaders who depend on handouts to survive. It turns out that the real welfare queens are Republican governed states who would be up shit's creek without blue states like NY, NJ and CA to bail them out.

Remember to throw these FACTS in the faces of the Republicans you meet, and while we are at it, if you get the chance ask Sarah Palin "How's that subsidy, welfare-y thing workin out for ya?"

Definitely read the whole article, but these are the best parts . . .

Alaska gets $1.84 in federal spending for every dollar it pays in federal taxes.

We in New York get just 79 cents on the dollar.

(snip)
So, how's that subsidy, welfare-y thing working out for ya, Sarah?

~snip~
Maybe there will be more reality shows featuring other big names in the Tea Party who call for cuts in government spending even as their home states are subsidized by the rest of us.

Sarah Palin's true reality:'Free' Alaska is a welfare state that enjoys generous federal subsidies

1. K&R. First she's sneaking over the border for Canadian healthcare
then when she gets back, she's got evil "big government" footing her state's bills.

Her life is as much a sham as her TV show.

3. I'm not sure it is useful to adopt the "freeloader" rhetoric
Edited on Mon Nov-15-10 02:03 PM by jberryhill
Federal spending is federal spending.

Wyoming has fewer people than, say, Delaware, but it costs a lot more to build a highway across it. That's perfectly understandable.

There is a certain amount of irony is the well-known facts of how federal dollars are distributed and the general political tilt of the folks in various states, but the federal budget is the federal budget, not a casus belli for an economic war between the states.

5. I agree, and if the tag "freeloader" is applied to individuals
rather than states who get more than they give, then it's REALLY not useful.

4. She admits that Alaska is a communist state
Right here, she says it very clearly:
"I love Alaska," Palin says in the online promo. "I understand the uniqueness of this land. It's about family and community."

EVERYBODY who listens to Fox "News" know that community is just a liberal codeword for socialism/communism/Marxism.

6. Not PWND.
This has been known for many years.

And teabaggers are unable to grasp these simple facts. This is like particle physics to them.

9. It hasn't been known to the general public, though.
I've been posting threads on this topic for years at DU, and every time I do half the responses are "I didn't know that."

10. I know - I probably first read it here.

But for this to have any effect, it needs a LOT more exposure than DU, Kos, & the NY Daily News. It needs to be such a controversy that Rush and Hannity etc have to bloviate and do somersaults trying to defend it.

I doubt that will happen. But if it does, then we're getting close to PWND.

IMHO.
