Talk to your more right-wing associates. Not about their actual politics, but about why they prefer demagogues and hatemongers over actual political thought and debate.

As much as I used to dislike George Will, I could generally have sane conversations with people who followed him. Not so with Limbaugh, or Beck, or Palin.
