I became a rich man yesterday. I bet myself a billion dollars that right wing radio hosts would politicize the tragic shooting deaths in Tucson and the attempted assassination of a congresswoman.
First Rush Limbaugh came on at noon. He,in order, trashed the mainstream media,President Obama, and Senator Dick Durbin. Somebody should tell Limbaugh that when you broadcast to six hundred some stations and people in New York listen to you on ABC,you ARE mainstream media.

Worst of what I heard was broadcaster Mark Levin. Why is he the worst? First,no one should allow themselves to be called "The Great One" unless they are great, and he is not. Second,he changes the names of celebrities and broadcast entities to juvenile levels. Examples: Chuck "Scmuckie" Schumer, Hillary "Rotten" Clinton, Mayor Michael "Bloomturd",and "MSLSD".

I was at a radio conference where Limbaugh spoke. He said (and I paraphrase) that he could be the greatest talk show host in the world, but if his ratings were subpar,he wouldn't last. Therefore,he would say what he had to say to last. Given that,he can't be taken seriously. Given that, when he makes snide racial references,we can assume he is appealing to his base. Given that, why does anyone listen? The answer lies in the words of writer Aaron Sorkin, who in describing a right wing politician brilliantly portrayed by Richard Dreyfuss in "The American President", wrote 'Bob Rumson is interested in two things and two things only: Finding something to scare you and finding someone to blame it on'.
Insecure people scared to death about a Black man in the White House drool like Pavlovian dogs at the inane spoutings from these guys, but it evidently sells lots of soap---I mean gold.
