Noam Chomsky
If George Bush were to be judged by the standards of the Nuremberg Tribunals, he'd be hanged. So too, mind you, would every single American President since the end of the second world war, including Jimmy Carter.

Britains premier news anchor Jeremy Paxman met and interviewed Chomsky in an 8 minute meeting in the British museum..pathetically setting a "dissident trap" for chomsky ..in a vain attempt to discredit one of the worlds leading political vioces..sad they should waste time with a rarely seen (on the BBC) chomsky..

1. Noam's absolutely correct
'If George Bush were to be judged by the standards of the Nuremberg Tribunals, he'd be hanged. So too, mind you, would every single American President since the end of the second world war, including Jimmy Carter'.

I always thought of him as a good and decent man.

4. What's a 'dissident trap'?
Chomsky is normally proud to dissent from the established view. If you think that's an attempt to discredit an interviewee, then you've been watching too many brown-nosing American interviewers.

5. You don't watch too much Paxman then?
Jeremy Paxman gives all his interviewees a good roasting. That's why we like him.

I mean goodness, how many UK DUer's remember the occasion when he asked Micheal Howard the same question 14 times in the hope of getting a straight answer?

6. I prefered his interview with Blair about Richard Desmond
Paxman asked about the £100,000 donated to the Labour Party by Richard Desmond, owner of The Express, and one or two less family-oriented titles.
“Horny Housewives,” recited Paxman, with a commendably straight face, “Mega Boobs, Posh Wives, Skinny & Wriggly. . . do you know what these magazines are like?”
“No, I don’t,” replied the prime minister.
