...from what I've read over the years about their domestic policies. They have a minority right wing about the size of ours, with about the same disproportionate effect on government.

They also have a vocal, stubborn and violent minority who are determined to occupy the entire area of the historical kingdom of Israel because "god wills it". Netanyahu seems to pander to the last group there.

I watched Lawrence O'Donnell the other night. He gave a great explanation about Israel and it's rhetoric about peace. So, when you gather all the information about things said, Netanyahu is in agreement with Obama. It's just the Zionists and their supporters that scream the loudest. Like our country, the nutjobs seem to run the country.

It doesn't require actual fraud as in the USA. Extreme proportional representation as in Israel leads to just as much distortion in the results as does its total lack as in the UK. Both countries get their 'Florida's as a result.

Netanyahu's opponent Livni actually got more votes than him, but neither got anything like a majority, and he was the one who was able to get enough other parties to form a coalition.

Why the Jews never returned to Germany,Poland,Russia,and other countries that they fled from during world war two?If they did would America put pressure on those countries as they do the Palestinians?It seem to me that racism plays a role in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Not a whole bunch mind you, but there are vibrant Jewish communities in central Europe, and they attract immigrants, who are largely welcomed.

Well - they only had a Cold War against them for over 40 years.

As to 'why the Jews didn't return to these countries' - many did return/stay in Russia, despite the frequent outbreaks of antisemitism there. They didn't have much choice for the most part (remember how the word 'refuseniks' originated?) Mass Russian Jewish emigration to Israel (and to some extent America) occurred in the 1990s after the Soviet Union ended and they were able to leave.

As for why they might not have wanted to return to these countries, here's just one example:

Nonetheless, there are still a significant number of Jews in Europe; we constitute about 12% of the world's Jewish population.
