Wall Street Protests: Why the Silence? Why the Violence?

According to Reuters, a protest spokesman, Patrick Bruner said police were responding in an "exceedingly violent" manner. Meanwhile, updates on the protest were being posted on another website, occupywallstreet.org. One comment posted there asked: "If Tea Partiers were pepper-sprayed by police while peacefully protesting an Obama event, what do you think the reaction would be?"

1. My guess is the press is waiting for the protesters to start fighting back.

The elites are probably hoping someone will attack a police officer if they the police are commanded to constantly beat the shit out peaceful protestors. If the police beat the shit out of a loved one right in front of you, perhaps your mother or sister, then you may try to defend that person.

If the protestors attempt to disable a police officer, who doubts that would be a major story all over TV?

The article deals mainly with the arrests and makes no reference to the purpose or even the name of the occupation which is described as "a lengthy protest."
