Free Speech Under Fire All Over as New York Protests Spread
While Wall Street protesters have been maced and herded like cattle into pens in New York's financial district, a theater professor in Wisconsin has been censored and threatened with criminal action for displaying satirical posters on his office door.

Let there be no doubt about it: Freedom of speech is under fire in America. And it doesn't matter whether it's in the Midwest or the nation's financial capital. As the "Occupy Wall Street" effort was in its 11th day (and now apparently spreading to Los Angeles and elsewhere), a woman maced by a police officer on videotape spoke out about the incident. And the officer himself was identified by a photographer on the scene.

1. Also, with overhead in private insurance being what it is, imagine how at-will employment threatens
health care professionals who speak out about the standards of care.

3. Those women being maced was bad enough but what really got to me,
was the man, holding a camera, who's head was bashed against a car by a cop.

And yet the protesters remain nonviolent. This is a wonder to see. Such restraint by so many despite deliberate provocation. These protesters are real Americans.
