California Quits States’ Talks With Banks on Mortgages.
California’s attorney general, Kamala Harris, wrote in a letter to government officials leading the talks that she would pursue her own investigation.

”California was being asked for a broader release of claims than we can accept,” she said. “The relief contemplated would allow too few California homeowners to stay in their homes.”

New York had left the talks in August over a disagreement about how much legal immunity the banks should receive in any settlement.

1. Class action suit against the banks for mortgage fraud should be pending
with criminal indictments to follow... if there were any justice.
