Driver Who Attempts to Hit Recallers Might Be a GOP Official!

"Last Friday night in Racine there were some folks near a laundromat out collecting recall signatures. Someone floored their car, speeding towards the group, causing them to scatter or be hit. On Saturday night, a driver tried to back his vehicle into a different group. Both of these tales of reckless endangerment illustrate how crazy things are getting in Wisconsin as the rightwing Koch-amore seems to be fading with the possible result of a few unemployed high-level government workers next spring. But Saturday's "oops, I didn't see you back there!" move is also interesting in two other significant points.

1) There was a retired policeman in the group, and
2) It appears likely that the man who likes to turn his automobile into an assault weapon is a current Racine County Republican Party officer, Republican Treasurer Tom Bode."

What he did would be a felony charge, because a car is considered a deadly weapon he could potentially face multiple counts of attempted murder. The challenge would be in proving his act was intentional, it certainly appears it was but proving it in a court of law could be difficult. Charges should certainly be pursued however, even if they can't get the attempted murder charge on him it seems an open and shut case of reckless driving.

his testimony is usually highly regarded by the court.

Having children in the car might also influence the court.

hard to prove. But, he did it twice, so that seems intentional.

When I first read the article I assumed the two incidents involved different vehicles, when I read it again it does not seem clear either way. If it was this same person in both incidents then I agree with you, this should be an easy prosecution as it is quite far fetched to believe someone would accidently do this twice.

Trying to run down peaceful political activists certainly seems like terrorism to me. I mean we are are a nation of laws. It's just too bad that those laws don't seem to apply equally to the GOP as they do to the liberals. I guess that's probably because rich white men are in charge of everything.
