Three Pillars of a Revived Republic

I have been conflicted of late as to whether or not to continue my support for the Democratic Party. Personally, I'd like to play President Obama one-on-one under the boards for about 5 minutes. I worked my ass off getting that little prick elected and have regretted it most days since. To the man's credit he has disabused me once and for all of any naive notions I may have nurtured about the new Democratic Party's fidelity to the New Deal. Having said this, Robert Parry over at Consortium News has written this article which I found thought provoking even though I don't agree entirely with the thought. Basically, he is saying that our political culture abides only two political parties and since the lesser of two evils is the choice then wisdom chooses the lesser. What do you think?

2. With hard work the Democratic Party can become better. The

Republican Party is beyond fixing. Unfortunately our system is dysfunctional: the 20 smallest states,population-wise, have the same population as California but have 40 Senators. Smaller states with a total population of less lthan 60 million have 52 Senators. Only occasionally have there been enough good Senators to make good decisions. Of course some very good senators have come from small states, such as McGovern,Tom Harkin, Harold Hughes, but states like Wyoming, Utah, Idaho have right wingers as Senators.

3. Left v Right has a biological basis.

No use trying to contravene it... but a minority of (very vocal) lefties see the party as little more than a ticket for narcissistic indulgence. Gotta take back the party from them first.
