The sad thing about not being here in the heart of it all, of course, is that even dedicated CSPAN viewers think this mammoth, steamy demonstration in the heart of Manhattan was basically all about yelling "Fox News Sucks" or even worse as the long, loud line made the turn at Madison Square Garden.
That, after all, is where all the TV cameras were.
That is why the Gleaner went to the center of it all early Sunday morning and lined up with the marchers down at 23rd and Seventh Avenue, sweated a lot and sought shade trees during the wait and then, moved on out with everyone else.
One overwhelming impression: All protest marches should be held in cities where people, at the first opportunity, break away and have sandwiches and icy cappuccino out of camera view, way down on Fifth Avenue, where the protest was directed in an attempt to keep it from messing up the new lawn at Central Park.
