3. I'll Do You One Better - I'll Fisk It
When terrorists exploded a bomb outside a shrine in Najaf last week, they killed scores of Muslims who had gathered for prayers--including one of Iraq's foremost Shiite leaders, who had been playing a key role in stabilizing post-Saddam Iraq. Similarly, when a bomb detonated in the U.N. headquarters in Baghdad recently, those killed and injured were innocent men and women--including Iraqis--who were engaged in the humanitarian mission of rebuilding Iraq.

Whaaaaaaaa? No. . .fuggin'. . .way!

But those victims weren't the only targets. Terrorists were aiming a blow at something they hate even more--the prospect of a country freed from their control and moving to become an Iraq of, by, and for the Iraqi people. Terrorists recognize that Iraq is on a course towards self-government that is irreversible and, once achieved, will be an example to all in the Muslim world who desire freedom, pointing a way out of the hopelessness that the extremists feed on. And so, they test our will, the will of the Iraqi people, and the will of the civilized world.

Tewwowists are bad - waaaaaaaaaaah!

Anyone who thinks that the battle in Iraq is a distraction from the war on terror should tell it to the Marines of the 1st Marine Division who comprised the eastern flank of the force that fought its way to Baghdad last April. When I met recently with their commander, Maj. General Jim Mattis in Hillah, he said that the two groups who fought most aggressively during the major combat operations were the Fedayeen Saddam--homegrown thugs with a cult-like attachment to Saddam--and foreign fighters, principally from other Arab countries. The exit card found in the passport of one of these foreigners even stated that the purpose of his "visit" to Iraq was to "volunteer for jihad."

HAH! So not only has this godforsaken war haven't done SHIT for terrorism, it has created a new hotbed of terrorism. Wayttago Wolfie!

Foreign terrorists who go to Iraq to kill Americans understand this: If killing Americans leads to our defeat and the restoration of the old regime, they would score an enormous strategic victory for terrorism--and for the forces of oppression and intolerance, rage and despair, hatred and revenge. Iraqis understand this. Alongside us, they are working hard to fight the forces of anger and hopelessness and to seize this historic opportunity to move their country forward.

Of course the Eye-Rackees unnerstand this. They also unnerstand that they don't like being a laboratory for fuck-tarded, neo-con geopolitics, which is why they harbor these "terrorists" within their population in the first place.

To those who think the battle in Iraq is a distraction from the global war against terrorism . . . tell that to our troops.

And maybe you should also tell your troops why this happened:

Disarming Iraq of its chemical and biological weapons and dismantling its nuclear weapons program is a crucial part of winning the War on Terror. - January 23

I'm not concerned about weapons of mass destruction. - July 22

5. Nice comments
Wolfowitz, you magnificent bastard.

I like how Wolfy hides his psychosis so well. He reminds me of Gollum from The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers. I'd be interested to hear the conversations that the collective voices in the heads of Wolfy and Perle have together.

2. Required login
"Support Our Troops" is just cheap sloganeering. Really supporting our troops would require shared sacrifice - something Republicans only provide lip service to.

6. Wolfowitz is full of shit
He says Iraq is not a distraction in the war on terrorism. Well of course it isn't! It's creating more terrorists every day, and providing American targets within reach of their expanding hatred.

If putting our soldiers into this escalating meat grinder with no exit strategy constitutes supporting them, I'll side with the unpatriotic non-supporters who want to bring them home now.

Wolfy goes on to spew the usual "terrorists hate democracy" rhetoric, ignoring the fact that infidels who attack and occupy an Islamic country might expect to meet resistance.

Then he concludes his op/ed with a gushy tale of 9/11 survivors meeting the troops, once again trying to frame this war a righteous response to being attacked.

Do intelligent people actually read this propaganda and nod their heads in agreement?

7. Wolfowitz lies
Praise our troops to high heaven and behind the scenes he, Dr. Chu, Rumsfeld and Princippi are selling our veterans down the river and fighting them tooth and nail every step of the way. He is sickening. If any of you have heard of concurrent receipt or CRSC you'll know what I'm talking about and we have more wounded all the time. The man is an A**.
