I don't see who wrote the article but it's a sad state of affairs that Aljazeera can report this but we can't. They know what our own people are not allowed to know.
http://www.aljazeera.com/cgi-bin/review/article_full_story.asp?service_ID=6385It seems that the Republican leadership in the era of President George W. Bush is facing a serious problem with the concept of American Democracy.
(snip)
Voting used to give each American a strong personal stake in government policy and national success. But now, the Bush Republican leadership is putting the citizens’ commitment to the country’s national destiny at a serious risk by playing games with the voting process.
During the last two U.S. Presidential elections, Republican Secretaries of State in some states like Florida and Ohio manipulated the voting process.
Many of the Republican leaders used the Republican dominance of federal courts to keep legally cast votes from being counted.
The strong alliance of U.S. largest media corporations with Bush Republicanism has blurred the awareness of the vote fraud issue for most of the Americans.
(snip)
The Americans should wake up and protect their national identity by having a spirited nation debate on voting. They should go back to their historical traditions of having clean and credible elections.
The Americans should also deserve to have a government that limits the political power and political control of the super-wealthy class or large corporations.
(snip)
Thus, analysts predict that the Republican leaders will soon face internal revolt if they continue to hide examples of vote fraud.
The Republicans leadership must bring itself on the right track before it faces destruction as a political movement.
