AARP starts two week ad campaign on Wednesday against Bushco

In our local Grand Rapids,Michigan fish wrap aka Grand Rapids
right wing press. The AARP had a little small article stuffed
back in the Nation/World section.  The AARP is starting an ad
blitz against BuschCo spending five million dollars in two
weeks via newspaper ads. Check your local right wing paper to
see if these attack ads against BuschCo and his SS reform.
AARP said "We will put all our strength behind this
issue". These ads coincide with the start of the new
congress on Tuesday. AARP tries to fight the power.

I was unable to find a link online. I also tried to scan the small blurb to the Computer but the ink print is to dark even on the lightest setting on my printer.

3. Even if those ads are enormously successful,

they will never make up for the AARP backing *'s Medicare drug ripoff.

They had a perfect chance to stand up to the bully then, but instead empowered him. I'm glad they lost a lot of membership because of it, too.

5. Too little too late....

When it counted, just before last years campaign, AARP sucked up to the Repug prescription drug fraud. I lost all respect for them. Several months later, I got my 1st offer to join. You can only imagine how much fun I had in telling them to f**k-off.

That was a stupid endorsement for them to make. It gave Bush cover. It'll be a cold day in Hell before I pony up a nickle to those Bush-enablers.

why fight them? True, they sold out on the prescription card mess. But, AARP has a large following. I've not heard of any other organization that's starting to counter the Bush BS. The truth needs to be publicized before he creates another false crisis to get what he wants for his supporters.

Although I agree with you about the AARP in the past, on this issue, I'll support them.

I just have no intention of giving them a dime until they dump the board members that made that idiotic decision.

I'll give them all the "moral" support they want, just no money until I can trust how it will be spent again.

In a few weeks they will come out for full privitization. Bush has said all along that those who are currently receiving benefits will not have them reduced and they will fall for that bullshit.

11. Not only did it give bush* cover, AARP was in a unique position to

crater and expose the drug fraud for what it was. Fraud. The AARP's feeble excuse was that it was better than nothing. Wrong. Nothing would have been better.

and that it is really wrong to send a confusing message to our troops in Iraq by doubting the president on Social Security which is now National Security which is giving the soldiers insecurity over an issue that the president is remarkably successful with <?>, even if he looks like the Emperor without any clothes on!

Lastly, it isn't easy being president so just cooperate with him!

14. Too Late

I'm waiting to see what they say before I get on the AARP bandwagon. They blew my support with their support of the fiasco of a drug bill. Sometimes no bill really is better.
