Mike Rupert "moves on" from 9/11 activism

January 19, 2005 (FTW) -- On Saturday night, January 15th, at Kane Hall, on the campus of the University of Washington in Seattle, a standing room only crowd of almost 1000 witnessed a new and aggressive presentation by Michael C. Ruppert, as he began the healing process of moving forward from the 9-11 focus many had associated him with for years. In front of a wildly enthusiastic throng of supporters, listeners, activists, and those just needing to learn and listen, Ruppert explained to them that although the 9-11 cause is still alive it is no longer useful as a political tool by activists. The window on 9/11 has closed. Simple as that.

Even though 9-11 and all that goes along with it, as well as his book Crossing the Rubicon are useful and important, he believes that no sanctions, indictments or criminal prosecution will ever be handed down. Rubicon, he says, remains a base map of the decades before and the years since 9/11. But now he says we must look at the herd of elephants charging at us, instead of the one elephant that just ran us over.

Mike told the crowd to be prepared for a tremendous devaluation of the dollar; that the housing boom is ending; that we should begin to look at putting our money, or whatever cash we have left, into precious metals; that we must rid ourselves of debt, get out of the stock market and begin to think about a more self-sufficient living style. We must reduce personal consumption. We should understand that OIL and natural gas are the governing issues that control what the present administration does and we should stop the pipedreams of launching criminal action against the Cheneys, Bushes, et al., because it just isn't going to happen. Not in this version of America.

2. This Is A Bit Hard To Take From Mike...

In his Armani suit and tie. Sure dude, whatever you say. You've made your million on 9/11. Now let's all get past it.

about all the 9-11 lies, coverups, questions, etc, would just say 'okay, I give, let's talk about something else'

6. His focus in on Peak Oil - which is a world changing event

It is the age of the end of cheep oil and our lives will never be the same. I think this is true also and like Ruppert I believe the time is coming soon. Without wanting to sound like a hysteric (me) I do think that this is the real driving force "behind things". Ruppert, I think, wants this to get out to people so that they can get about the business of preparing for this. He (and I) think this is a life and death issue that is coming fast.

but I think his attitude is not quite as simplistic as what you suggest.

I think he sees other, equally (or more) tragic and devestating events occurring on the landscape and feels that it is more productive to put energy into issues where he can perhahps make some positive impact, something other than continuing to inform and enrage people, only to continued frustration.

With no cooperation from Congress, the administration or the judiciary, and after 3.5 years of fighting a battle with very little progess, I think he wants to put energy into something where he might have more of a postive impact.

Death threats are curious things... (no inside knowledge of any) but if they were made (and it wouldn't surprise me one bit) they could have quite a sobering effect on a person.

5. How much should Mike Ruppert affect activism?

It is almost as if we are being told by a pioneer to not bother to cross the mountain.

That can't be the message.

Dollar yes. Housing market yes. Everything else yes. But give up the quest of unraveling the crimes of 9-11?

Imagine - the hunt for the proclaimed perpretator was over before it began.

The hunt for the truth of 9-11 is over after good starts?

Say it isn't so, Mike Ruppert.

Boy, if I were a Michael Ruppert type, i'd consider it just a bit strange that another Michael Ruppert type promoted stuff like Vreeland and then decided to "move on" from 9/11 issues.

In fact, if I were a Michael Ruppert type, I'd consider it downright conspiratorial and black opsish.

Since I'm not a Michael Ruppert type, I'll have another cup of coffee and watch another episode of "the Young Ones" instead.
