be a viable investigation now that Patrick Fitzgerald is the new counsel?
Obviously, the act of outing a NOC agent for political reasons is tantamount to sedition, however, in your opinion, what chance does this case have to make a major impact in the next year?
I think it could have some ramifications for Karl Rove or possibly Scooter Libby, who are the suspected leakers, in the form of resignations. I would expect someone like Libby to be expendable and scapegoated, yet Rove has obvious involvement and, at the least, was known to have condoned and manipulated the action. Don't look for impeachment, and don't look for the media to get nasty until this thing becomes sensationalized. Only when massive sensation - a big if in this case - takes over will docile media types become sharks to a feeding frenzy. That may be the biggest chance this thing has to influence public opinion. Unfortunately, I find all too many people to be ignorant to politics, history, and current events. A few months ago, my younger brother, who has a college degree and is far from a fool, didn't even know who Howard Dean was, let alone Joseph Wilson.
Wilson's tenacity and pissed off CIA agents - such as Larry Johnson - just might be enough to really get this thing going.
I hope so.
