When speaking with New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, Dobbs asked him why U.S. citizens should support not only the corporations that hire illegal aliens but should also assist in picking up the tab for the workers themselves, he replied:

"The reality is that they are here and this is going to continue."

When further pressed by Dobbs, he asked:

"What do you want to do? Deport 12,000,000 people?" Richardson said that the critical missing piece of the Bush proposal is "benchmarks leading to legalization" for the illegals.
